To me there is nothing more exciting than fine music. I am a classically trained pianist and I play Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Ginastera, and many others. I have been teaching piano for over 20 years. I am forever thankful to the extraordinary teachers who introduced me to the world of music and who had that rare gift to engender a lasting love for it.
My bicycle is my best friend, my horse. Anyone who knows me well knows I love bicycling. A few years back I did a century ride – the Hancock Horizontal Hundred near Findlay, Ohio. We have some of the best bike trails in the country right here in Summit County.
I am a coffee fiend. We have a place in downtown Akron called Damascus Road Cafe – great people who make an amazing latte.
While I have always been a reader, I think it’s more important to me now, as more and more I find myself unable to watch anything on television. If it is Dickens, Tolstoy, Viktor Frankl, Brenda Ueland, I will do chin-ups on every syllable they write.
I love to study theology and to collect books. See for yourself at my Library Thing.
